Miner must fight again for compensation

The Government have already decided to fight miners crippled with arthritis due to their work to the bitter end through the courts once again. The Labour government had to be forced to pay compensation to miners with chest disease after contesting that through the courts. Now it is the miners and their families who will be dragged through the courts.

Recession will hit Wales hardest

Being chained to Britain, Wales will suffer the worst slump of all the advanced nations in the deepest recession the world has seen in 60 years, experts have predicted. This is the day when Welsh people were confronted with the true cost of Gordon Brown failures. Wales under Labour have had the slowest rate of growth during the so called good times which mean Wales would be the slowest to recover when the up turn comes around.

Unhappy with my Blog

Had a phone call last week from former Labour councillor and unionist Nigel Dix. He call to complain about me mentioning him in a recent blog. I leave any response to you.

Bigger Venue needed for Cardiff

Cardiff needs a bigger concert venue to start attracting more acts. The venue should be bigger than the CIA and smaller than the Millenium Stadium. Places like Birmingham, London, Manchester and Sheffield all have bigger venues and they are able to have major touring artists.

Hain guilty of 'serious' failings

Former Cabinet minister Peter Hain has been found guilty of "serious and substantial" failings in not registering more than £100,000 of donations to his Labour deputy leadership campaign, according to Westminster's sleaze watchdog.
The Commons Standards and Privileges Committee said the scale of the rule breach caused "justified public concern".
But the committee merely ordered the Neath MP to make an apology on the floor of the House after accepting there was no "intention to deceive".

Sainsbury say no to Bargoed

It been a sad couple of days since Sainsbury said no to Bargoed. The people have all been let down by the news. The only person trying to make political points scoring is the former Blackwood councillor Nigel Dix (Merthyr Express), this small minded little man seems to be enjoying Bargoed failure. Well Nigel let Bargoed have a share of some success, Blackwood is where it is today because of Plaid Cymru forward looking councillors before you came along. Even the negative independant councillor could stop the progress of Asda and the by-pass.

Warning of over 'privatisation' of Post Office branches

There was a time within the Labour party when the word "privatisation" was a dirty word and something those nasty Tories did when they were in government. Since Tony Blair took over the Labour party has embraced capitalism with open arms, casting away their socialist credentials. Whatever harden red flag flying socialist will say, Gordon Brown has carried on with Tony’s legacy. Now the latest plan for privatisation is our well used, well-loved but under funded post office. Labour’s excuse was that the post office is losing money. There are number of governmental departments that are losing money, like the armed forces, NHS, DVLA are those to be privatised.

Cllr Richards the Welsh Baldrick

Cllr Ioan Richards, the anti wind farm campaigner and self proclaimed "The people's Representative" as finally let the cat out of the bag. His answers to wind farms and locally produced energy, lies within the Baldrick book cunning plans from Blackadder. We buy gas from unstable counties, or use clean coal and have more open cast coal sites opened. Even better lets open a new nuclear power station, the type that takes thousands of years to store its waste. I’m told a very good site is in Gower. Cllr Richards would rather buy gas from Russia and the Middle East or electricity from France than produce it ourselves.

Labour Double Standards with Our Communities

Labour hazel Blears said:"People who care about their communities and have lived there for generations have every right to ask questions about what is happening in their estate, street, neighbourhood. We cannot allow people to exploit situations, but where there are legitimate concerns or questions they should be able to express them without fear of being branded racist when all they really want are answers or information. The job of politicians and leaders is to listen and respond." If a Plaid Cymru politician made that statement and included the protection of the Welsh language within that community, Labour in Wales and their Unions conspirators would soon be calling Plaid racist, bigots and anti English.

A Nationalist fairytale World or a promised Socialist Utopia

Labour councillor Rob Curtis thinks I want to live in a Nationalist Fairytale world, well in 1997 Labour promised a Socialist utopia. Labour promised that "Things can Only get Better" and that they was so very different from the Tories. Well News flash Labour is no different from the Tories. They are both up to their necks in sleaze, they both rely on big business for party donations and are both proud to call themselves "union flag" British party. You could say thanks to Tony Blair Old Labour changed their policies into New Tories, just to become electable in the South East of England. Running the country is hard and difficult decisions are sometimes made. So instead of reducing VAT, why didn’t Labour abolish stamp duty for a year, reduce employers national insurance contribution, reduce income tax for low and middle earners, bring in an energy windfall tax. If Labour really wanted to help the pensioners why don’t Labour restore their pension link with earning instead of means testing proud OAP’s. The same pension link that was cut by the Tories. The Unions, Age concern Cymru and Plaid Cymru all want the link restored, in fact the ones who don’t want to do this are Labour and the Tories.

A Happy New year from Plaid Cymru

In this time of uncertainty you can rest assure Plaid Cymru is on your side and fighting on every level for you. Plaid Cymru believes in Wales and our communities.
