Ex-Labour MP John Hutton to get over £300 a day to cut pensions

Ex-Labour MP John Hutton will get more than £300 a day to help slash public sector pensions.
The former Cabinet minister sparked fury by agreeing to head Chancellor George Osborne's review that will cut the pay or pensions of millions.
The ex-Defence Secretary, now Lord Hutton of Furness, only works three days a week for the fat salary that will disgust teachers, nurses and other hard-working government staff. Dave Prentis, leader of the Unison union, said: "Britain's public sector workers will be angry Hutton, with his plump MPs' pension, is getting paid so much to lead an attack on pensions." As chair of the Pensions Commission, during the expected ninemonth job he will earn £36,000, or £307 a day - plus travel and costs.
He will still claim a taxpayer-funded "gold plated" MPs' pension and a "golden goodbye" of up to £64,000 for quitting the House of Commons as an MP.
Labour MP John Mann said: "This is an insult to retired people struggling to get by across the country."
