Tory / Libs policy bad for unemployed

There are three most important issues that will affect the less well off in Wales. One is the cutting housing benefit, two forcing people off sickness benefit to job seekers allowance with the loss of £15 per week and thirdly pushing the unemployed to move to areas of work.Point one contradict point three, as the unemployed will not be able to afford to move where the work is as the local housing market is more expensive. I know there are claimants who have the knowledge to work the system illegally. Unless the government don’t investigate more these people will still get away with making false claims and the honest will suffer more.

Work Secretary Iain Duncan Smith unveils extreme Norman Tebbit-style policy for jobless

Work Secretary Iain Duncan Smith wants powers to force the unemployed to move house if they are council or housing association tenants.
He said: "Sometimes you need to be able to move to the work. We have over the years created one of the most static workforces in the western world.
I hear Canada, Australia or New Zealand is ideal places to move to.

Think Positive

  • I know, that things don't seem so good right now
  • But you gotta move along some how
  • Try to do the best you can Sure nuff, thins will slowly turnaround
  • You won't always be so down I know that it's true
  • It won't always be such stormy weather
  • It may be a cliche but the sun is gonna shine
  • So you can't sit around
  • Or the bad times are gonna get to you
  • And you're never gonna see it through
  • It don't matter where you've been
  • It's where you're going to
  • Yeah, and it won't do you no good Just livin' in the past
  • You know you can't sit around
  • 'Cos the bad times are gonna get to you
  • And you're never gonna see it through

Jeff Cuthbert Running Scared

What a pathetic little letter from Jeff Cuthbert AM (Western Mail Sat 12 June). If the architect of devolution Ron Davies did join Plaid Cymru, at least he would have joined the only Welsh socialist party and not a New labour party who panders to the will of London masters. I think my local AM should be using his time working with his coalition partners Plaid Cymru in the fight against Tory /Liberal cuts.

In the same edition three former New Labour MP’s stand trial over fiddling their expenses. Today’s New Labour are more like the Tories, thanks to Lord Kinnock, Tony Blair and Gordon Brown in attempt to make them electable with the middle England vote.

When Mr Cuthbert refer to the recent rise in Tory votes in Caerphilly. He failed to mention that the Tory vote was up in most Welsh constituencies and that how Labour lost Vale of Glamorgan, Cardiff North and Aberconwy. This was down to tactics of Peter Hain “vote Labour to keep the Tories out” People voted Tory just to defy Mr Hain. By the tone of Mr Cuthbert’s letter he is not confident of keeping his seat.

Lembit Öpik the comedian

I see Lembit Öpik as now joined the ranks of comedians, having been a Liberal Democrat MP he as had enough practice. Being a member of the Liberal Democrat party he also got enough material, just read their manifesto or leaflets.
