Butcher Blair Peace Knighthood....Form Pope

Tony Blair is to get a knighthood, "Supreme Order of Christ" from the Pope for "services to peace". The award was first given during the last crusades. I think Mr Blair should be tried as a war criminal and not some Catholic Saint.

A Political Mercenary

I was surprised by the recent letter from Cllr Nigel Dix regarding his fellow True Wales "No Campaigners". Lets not forget Cllr Dix will be delivering leaflets next year for the "No Campaign" bought and paid for by right wing donators from UKIP, BNP and the Tory party. What a political Mercenary Cllr Dix is becoming.

Chelsea Pensioners’ Appeal

The Chelsea Pensioners' Appeal is trying to raise £30 million to modernise the Pensioners' living accommodation within the Christopher Wren designed long wards. The current Chelsea Pensioners call a 9ft x 9ft wooden cubical with no windows home, 36 men share 4 toilets and 2 showers down a 50 yard corridor.

Drug Addicts to be moved from Prisons to Private Hospitals

Up to 12,000 drug addicts could be switched from jails to private hospitals by the Con/Dem government.

Lord Prescott warns Labour

Labour has forgotten how to organise itself and must get a grip of its finances, Lord Prescott warned. He said the Labour party is almost bankrupt with falling membership and the party is about £20m in debt. No wonder the country is in so much debt, the Labour people can’t even control their spending.

At Last Labour see the Underfunding Light

After 13 years of a Labour Government Carwyn Jones and other senior Labour AM’s has finally conceded that London has under funded Wales to the tune of at least £300 million. It could safeguard 9,000 public sector jobs in Wales when the Con/Dem axe falls next year.I hope that the Labour wing of the “No Campaign” like Cllr Nigel Dix will agree with his fellow senior Labour member Mr Jones or will they contiune to side with the Tories.

Tony Blair's £4.6m book donation branded 'blood money'

Tony Blair promised to hand over a £4.6million advance for his memoirs to charity in a move condemned by some as ‘blood money’.
Blood Money: Tony Blair book gift attacked
The former prime minister also said he would donate any profits from the book to the Royal British Legion.
Lindsey German, from the Stop The War Coalition, described the gift as evidence of his ‘guilty conscience’. The wars in Iraq and Afghanistan have resulted in the pointless death of hundreds of British soldiers and hundreds of thousands of civilians,’ she said. ‘No amount of money will wash their blood from his hands.’ Contributors to the Army Rumour Service website suggested: ‘The RBL should say: “Thanks for the money, Mr Blair...now f*** off.”Mr Blair should been still tried as a war crimminal. I say don't buy the book and donate £25 yourself to the British Legion.

Jeff Cuthbert Running Scared

You can always tell when a candidate or sitting politician is running scared by the amount of personal attacks on an opponent takes place. Going by Mr Cuthbert recent letters he is in a panic and I'm not surprised by his 2,287 majority. Last election saw
Plaid Cymru
Lindsay Whittle
6,739
Independent
Ron Davies
5,805

which adds up to over 12,000 future votes Mr Cuthbert had 9,026 with the fact that Labour has been losing over 1,000 voters every election and that Aberbargoed and maesycwmmer have been moved to Islwyn.

Spin Doctors Double Under New Labour

Pretty much as soon as New Labour got into power it started undermining the impartiality of the Civil Service and diverting government funds to special advisers who were essentially Labour stooges paid by the taxpayer. The number of special advisors had risen from 38 to 81.
One of the scandals of the whole special advisor system is that they are allowed to bunk off at election time and work for their political master at taxpayers’ expense. When an advisor resign at election time are entitled to three months to six months’ pay. After the election they can pick up where they left off. Their volunteering is paid by the taxpayer.

“Your enemies are the people who sit behind you. Those in front are merely your opponents.” Never was the old saying about the nature of politics truer than in the case of New Labour. Under Tony Blair and his spin twins Peter Mandelson and Alastair Campbell, both have recently wrote books cashing in on the death of New Labour. The practice of smearing one’s own side was developed into a fine art. This happens when individuals of a political party put their interests before their party, party members and the people who believed in the policies.

The Union Modernisation Fund

During 2005 New Labour was facing a fairly serious funding crisis. Thanks to this crisis it is dependent upon the generous support of the unions. Unfortunately the unions aren’t rolling in cash either. Their membership has been in decline for some time as more and more union members lose their jobs due to tough new union laws introduced by the Tories in the 1980’s. It is at precisely that moment the union modernisation fund started. A vehicle for the new Labour government to give £10 million of taxpayers money to the unions over three years is created.

Marxist Milibands?

We all know that New Labour doesn’t really approve of offshore trusts and tax loopholes. Well, that’s their public position anyhow. The Chancellor of the Exchequer has been careful in closing inheritance loopholes, ably assisted by his policy assistant Ed Miliband brother of David and New Labour leader candidates. Now Ed and David’s father Ralph Miliband, the Marxist historian and uber-leftie died in 1994 having transferred almost all his assets, including homes in London and Oxfordshire, to his wife. Strangely, the family posthumously rewrote his will to give the two MP brothers a 20% share of the family home in London, having been advised to do so by tax accountants. David first declared a “20% share of the family home in London” on the MPs’ Register of Interests in 2002, although it has curiously disappeared from the latest version. Ed Miliband has never registered. This scheme is called a “deed of variation” and was highlighted by Gordon Brown in opposition as an unacceptable way in which the wealthy avoid paying death duties. It allows people to inherit assets tax-free even if this goes against the wishes of the deceased. Thanks Ed Balls for the info.

New Labour has forsaken the poor in Wales

English Labour MP’s wanted to lose the general election just to get rid of Gordon Brown and not to face up to future cuts. They left Wales to the mercy of a Tory government, knowing that they will cut public spending and public jobs. New Labour has forsaken the poor in Wales for internal bickering and election.

Labour MP Alan Milburn set for third return to Government as David Cameron adviser

Alan Milburn, the former Labour minister, is set for a shock return to government as an adviser to David Cameron, it can be revealed. The leading Blairite has been offered the role of "social mobility tsar" by the Prime Minister, with a remit to examine ways of boosting the chances of underprivileged children. Earlier this summer he appointed Frank Field, the Labour MP for Birkenhead, to lead an independent review into poverty in Britain. Mr Field, who was asked by Tony Blair in 1997, when the welfare reform minister, to "think the unthinkable", is looking at ways to combat social problems caused by deprivation. Early suggestions include introducing parenting lessons in schools. Will Hutton, the left wing economist, was also recruited as an adviser to the Coalition to look at pay differentials in the public sector.

Edwina Hart to ask for powers on alcohol licensing for Wales

HEALTH MINISTER Edwina Hart intends to ask for licensing powers to be devolved to Wales in a bid to address the nation’s love affair with alcohol.A formal request for the transfer of powers could see Wales go it alone on alcohol pricing and licensing hours. This is because Labour MP’s failed to address the problem with binge drinking as the failure of the relaxation of the licencing laws. There sould be a stop on supermarkets selling cheap booze but as New Labour panders to the same supermarkets for donations change was never going to happen.

Wales has been Neglected for too long

After thirteen years of a Labour government, there are more than one in five working age people in Caerphilly is claiming out-of-work benefitsAlmost 22,500 people in the county borough are unemployed and depending on benefits, from a total working age population of 104,953. I believe the Tories decimated the valleys during the eighties with the coalmines and steel works closures and New Labour as decimated the manufacturing industry by not strengthen the employment laws a move support by all the unions. This is why Germany is recovering quicker out of this global financial problem.

Home truths for Labour Members

These single cell Labour party members have such short memories. Have they forgotten the note former chief secretary to the Treasury, Liam Byrne Labour MP, left his successor which said "there's no money left". A number of councils in the North East, along with Northumbria Police Authority, had £28m invested in Icelandic banks. Northumberland County Council, which invested £23m in failed banks, stands to lose £9.1m, while Gateshead Council, which deposited £2.7m, has estimated losses in its accounts of £460,361. Gateshead also provides support for Northumbria Police Authority, which invested £3m. Nationwide, around 120 authorities invested £1bn in failed Icelandic banks. Like Caerphilly council they took advice from Labour officials, with more Labour controlled council losing the most money.

Labour Treasury minister who said there was no money left accepts near-£20,000 pay-off

Liam Byrne, a Labour Cabinet minister who told the new Government that there was no money left, has pocketed a near-£20,000 pay-off. Mr Byrne, the former Chief Secretary to the Treasury, left a handwritten note in his desk, warning his successor that there was no money left.
Now, it has emerged that Mr Byrne, who is still a Labour MP, accepted a severance payment of £19,589 when he left the Government.
Mr Byrne was one of five Treasury ministers, who received a total of £64,766 in severance payments, figures show.
Alistair Darling MP, the former Chancellor, accepted £19,589 and Stephen Timms MP, the former Financial Secretary to the Treasury, accepted £10,162

More to The Dole Less Jobs

This Con/Dem government plans to remove 39% of people claiming incapacity benefit and put them on JSA, which is £15 less per week. That would mean 4,446 people living in Caerphilly council and 1,759 in Merthyr council will see their benefits cut. This means 57,049 people across Wales will be added to the JSA numbers.

Cut Our MP’s Down to Size

I see Peter “Vain” Hain MP believes there will be a public uprising should the government lay a hand on a single Labour safe MP.Well Mr Hain I like thousand of others will not be losing sleep over the loss of a few Welsh Labour MP’s. We will be to busy worrying about how to feed out family, pay our bills and heat our homes whilst living on a low income.

You Start to Know who your friends are

Since been made redundant, I have had my eyes open. I had help and understanding from Lloyds TSB. With a lack of uderstanding and unhelpful actions from Plaid Cymru Credit Union. I now regret having anything to do with Plaid Cymru Credit Union.
