Carwyn "The Moaner" Jones

With the amount of moaning first minister Carwyn Jones have been making. You would think he was a Welsh nationalist. Wales under funded by Barnett Formula, lack of Olympic contracts to Welsh companies, lack of Olympic events. Why didn't he raise these issue when Labour was in government. This is not standing up for Wales, this is moaning from the sidelines and about as affective as a snowflake in Summer.

Gerrymandering Peter Hain

Gerrymandering is a practice that attempts to establish a political advantage for a particular party or group by manipulating geographic boundaries to create partisan, incumbent-protected districts. The resulting district is known as a gerrymander; however, that word can also refer to the process.

Gerrymandering may be used to achieve desired electoral results for a particular party, or may be used to help or hinder a particular demographic, such as a political, racial, linguistic, religious or class group.

When used to allege that a given party is gaining disproportionate power, the term gerrymandering has negative connotations. However, a gerrymander may also be used for purposes that some perceive as positive.

Just like the 1970's film a land ruled by dinosaurs, Labour dinosaurs. Don't let this country become extinct.

Carwyn Jones admits Labour can’t and won’t stand up for Wales to Westminster cuts

Labour has been accused of deliberately misleading the Welsh public after their leader in Wales admitted their election promise could not, and would not be delivered. Carwyn Jones made a personal promise to the Welsh electorate that Labour would act as a shield to protect people in Wales from all Westminster cuts. However, after being challenged on this pledge by Rhodri Glyn Thomas, in light of cuts to legal aid, the First Minister stated that Labour couldn’t deliver on their promise.

The Carmarthen East and Dinefwr Assembly Member said the statement by Carwyn Jones that he couldn’t stand up for the people of Wales when cuts are imposed by Westminster, was a complete contrast to promises he had made during the election.

Rhodri Glyn Thomas AM said:

"It is pretty appalling that Labour told people on the campaign trail that they would be a shield from all Westminster cuts, yet, just a matter of weeks since making that commitment, are washing their hands of their responsibilities.

"Labour made it clear in the election that voting for them would put an end to Westminster cuts. Now they are saying that they can’t and won’t live up to that pledge. People across Wales will be wondering why they voted Labour when they have been so quick to give up on trying to protect them.

"I have serious concerns about the future of local justice as a result of court closures in Wales, yet Labour’s response appears to be that the closures are being made by Westminster so there is nothing they will do top stand up against them. That attitude simply is not good enough for a government that said something completely different during the election.

"Quite rightly Welsh voters will feel angry that they have been misled by Labour. This is an election gimmick that has preyed on the fears of communities across Wales and Labour should not be allowed to ditch it so quickly."

Money 'stolen' by UK Government could have built 12,000 Welsh council homes

The Labour Minister for Housing Huw Lewis AM has confirmed that Wales will continue to send £73m of Welsh money back to the Treasury in Westminster that should be spent on local housing and construction in Wales.

“This Housing Revenue Account subsidy scheme has seen more than £1bn of council house rents returned to London since devolution began – and with Labour in charge at both ends of the M4. That is hardly ‘standing up for Wales’. In fact, it is the very opposite. That amount of money could have built up to 12,000 new council homes across Wales.
